Welcome to Sport (BTEC)
It is vitally important that students understand the importance of exercise in modern day society. This course is designed to enable learners to apply their knowledge both theoretically and practically. There is an emphasis on encouraging students to develop their knowledge and apply it to workplace scenarios that are relevant to the sports industry today.
The Sport BTEC uses a combination of assessment styles to give students the confidence that they can apply their knowledge in a variety of different scenarios to succeed in the workplace. Students will explore a variety of different topics across 4 units, including how the Skeletal, Muscular, Cardiovascular and Respiratory systems function, and the fundamentals of the Energy systems.
In contract, Sport BTEC will teach you how to assess a person’s fitness and lifestyle through the collection of data, and how to plan appropriate training programmes to take into account individual needs. This course teachers a range of topics, giving students a solid foundation for further study, or a career in sport and exercise.
The Sport (BTEC) course is comprised of four assessed units.
